How you can help…

Volunteers needed to deliver meals on Thanksgiving Day!

For the first time in our 50-year history, Heights and Hills will not coordinate an in-person community Thanksgiving dinner for Brooklyn’s older adults. Like so much else this year, this longstanding community collaboration must adapt to meet the current pandemic era challenges. While we can’t gather for fellowship and food, we will deliver Thanksgiving Day meals to our most vulnerable clients; those facing the chronic challenge of being homebound and isolated year in and year out.

We hope many of you who volunteer annually with us on Thanksgiving Day can still join us to deliver meals. 80 volunteers are needed to make no contact Thanksgiving Day deliveries on foot and by car in Brooklyn Heights, Boerum Hill, Crown Heights and Flatbush. Families welcome!

We are excited to continue our partnership with New York Cares for this event and registration is easy!

Step one: Create a New York Cares account here
