Heights and Hills Volunteer Program
Heights and Hills volunteers provide friendship and support to frail and homebound older adults in 19 diverse Brooklyn communities. They visit, go for walks, chat about art and cultural events, or help master a new smartphone.
They also teach classes at the Park Slope Center for Successful Aging, help serve our annual Thanksgiving Dinner, and escort older adults to medical appointments – while young people participating in our intergenerational programs become pen pals or send birthday cards to brighten the lives of older neighbors.
We recognize that each volunteer’s availability and goals are different so we offer many ways to make a difference.

Making Friends is good for you!
