interested in becoming a volunteer?
FALL 2021 UPDATE
Thank you for your interest in volunteering! We are currently accepting new volunteer applications for our Friendly Visiting, Wellness Call and/or Special Project Programs. We are excited to meet you!
**Please note that any client-facing volunteer work, this includes Friendly Visiting and Special Project programs, will require proof of COVID-19 vaccination.**
Heights and Hills volunteers provide friendship and support to frail and homebound older adults in 19 diverse Brooklyn communities. They visit, go for walks, chat about art and cultural events, or help master a new smartphone.
They also teach classes at the Park Slope Center for Successful Aging, help serve our annual Thanksgiving Dinner, and escort older adults to medical appointments – while young people participating in our intergenerational programs become pen pals or send birthday cards to brighten the lives of older neighbors.
We recognize that each volunteer’s availability and goals are different so we offer many ways to make a difference.
