caregiver support groups

 

Heights and Hills is proud to offer a variety of support groups for those caring for a loved one or friend who is age 60 or older.

These groups can help a family caregiver:

  • Know you are not alone
  • Have a safe space to express fears and frustrations
  • Share valuable information with other caregivers
  • Gain emotional support from a group of peers
  • Be guided by a social worker with expertise in dealing with the many and unique challenges of being a caregiver

Long-Distance Caregiving Support Group

Meets on Zoom on the first and third Mondays of the month, 6:00PM-7:30PM EST.

This support group addresses the practical and emotional needs of those who are helping care for an older relative who lives in a different city or state. 

Tuesday Afternoon Zoom Caregiver Support Group

Meets on Zoom in cycles of six sessions on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month, 3:00PM-4:30PM EST.

This is a general group for those who are helping care for an older adult and are looking to connect with other caregivers in a supportive environment.  

Parkinson’s Care Partners Support Group

Hybrid: meets in-person at Mark Morris Dance Center in Clinton Hill AND on Zoom, on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month, 12:00PM-2:00PM EST.

This group is specifically for participants who are caring for a loved one who has Parkinson’s disease.

Tuesday Evening Zoom Caregiver Support Group 

Meets every other Tuesday over Zoom, 7:00PM-8:00PM EST

This caregiver support group provides a safe, supportive environment for caregivers to share, connect and receive emotional support.

Thursday Evening Zoom Caregiver Support Group

Meets on Thursdays over Zoom, 7:00PM-8:00PM EST, in cycles of six sessions.

This is a general group for those who are helping care for an older adult and are looking to connect with other caregivers in a supportive environment.  

Don’t See What You’re Looking For?

We continue to offer various new caregiver support groups over Zoom. These groups run in sessions of 6 to 12 weeks and vary in their day and time to try to meet the diverse needs of our clients.
