caregiver support groups

Heights and Hills is proud to offer a variety of support groups for those caring for a loved one or friend who is age 60 or older.

These groups can help a family caregiver:

  • Know you are not alone
  • Have a safe space to express fears and frustrations
  • Share valuable information with other caregivers
  • Gain emotional support from a group of peers
  • Be guided by a social worker with expertise in dealing with the many and unique challenges of being a caregiver

Long Distance Support Group

This support group is designed especially for caregivers providing long-distance support. Whether you’re in Brooklyn offering support to someone outside the borough or you live elsewhere while caring for someone in Brooklyn, this group is a safe, understanding space to share experiences, challenges, and strategies.

Tuesday Afternoon Caregiver Support Group

Caring for a loved one can be both rewarding and challenging. This support group provides a safe, understanding space where caregivers can connect with other caregivers in a supportive environment to share experiences, find emotional support, and access helpful resources.

When: Every other Tuesday, 3:00 PM-4:30 PM Where: On Zoom

Parkinson’s Care Partners Hybrid Support Group

This support group is designed for individuals who care for someone diagnosed with Parkinson’s. We offer a hybrid format- with meetings available both in -person and via Zoom- so you can choose the option that works best for you.  Join us, and connect with other caregivers in a supportive environment.

When: on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month, 12:00 PM-2:00 PM

Where: On Zoom and in-person (at The Mark Morris Dance Center in Clinton Hill)

Evening Caregiver Support Group

Meets are on Zoom every other Wednesday, 6:00 PM-7:00 PM EST.

This group offers support, guidance, and shared experiences on a range of caregiving topics, including stress management, boundary setting, and self-care. It’s a great opportunity to connect with others who understand the journey.

General Caregiver Support Group  

Caring for a loved one can be both meaningful and challenging. Our caregiver support group provides a welcoming space for those navigating the demands of caregiving while also prioritizing their own well-being.
